How Does Neuroplasticity Change With Age?
Neuroplasticity is the brain’s ability to change and adapt in response to new experiences. This means that the brain is constantly rewiring itself in response to the things we do and the things we learn.
But how does neuroplasticity change with age? Does it decline as we get older, or does it stay the same?
Research suggests that neuroplasticity does indeed decline with age. One study found that adults over the age of 60 had significantly less neural plasticity than adults in their 20s (1).
However, it’s important to keep in mind that this research is still in its early stages. It’s possible that future research will find that neuroplasticity declines at a much slower rate than what has been observed so far. Only time will tell.

Challenging your mind with new activities and learning new things
